Packaging Assistant

JOB SUMMARY

 The Packaging Assistant supports daily packing operations by carrying out manual finished goods handling tasks on the packing line and in manual packing activities. The role focuses on the correct presentation, labeling, boxing, and handling of finished products in accordance with production instructions, quality standards, hygiene rules, and safety requirements. Depending on operational needs, the Packing Assistant may be assigned to support machine packing lines or manual packing activities during the shift.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Apply labels, stickers, and date codes to finish goods as per packing specifications.
• Place packed bags or finished units into cartons, trays, or other secondary packaging accurately and neatly.
• Support machine packing lines with manual assistance activities, including product handling, carton preparation, packing presentation, and line-side organization.
• Verify that packaging materials, labels, stickers, and cartons used match the product being packed and the applicable production instruction.
• Check the visual condition of finished goods and packaging materials and immediately report any damage, mismatch, contamination, or abnormality.
• Keep the packing area clean, organized, and safe at all times.
• Assist with packing material preparation, line replenishment, and movement of finished goods within the designated packing area.
• Follow instructions from the Production Lead, Packaging Shift Leader, Machine Operator, Senior Machine Operator, or Manual Packaging Supervisor according to the assigned activity.
• Support production targets by working efficiently, minimizing handling errors, and maintaining packing consistency throughout the shift.
• Comply with food safety, hygiene, GMP, health and safety, and company policy requirements always.
• Participate in shift handover, cleaning routines, and other operational support tasks as 

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

·        Strong attention to detail and consistency in manual packing activities.

·        Ability to follow work instructions, SOPs, and supervisor guidance accurately.

·        Flexible and willing to support different packing activities as needed.

·        Good communication and teamwork skills for effective coordination on the packing floor.

·        Basic awareness of quality, hygiene, food safety, and workplace safety requirements.

·        Able to identify and escalate packing or labeling issues promptly.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

·        Secondary/ High School Certificate

·        Experience in food production or factory environment (preferred)

·        Manual labor or operational experience

·        Strong practical knowledge of industry-specific technical processes, equipment, systems, and operational standards

·        Knowledge of health, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements relevant to the industry.
