Paint Technician is responsible for the proper preparation & application of painting materials and customer components to ensure that the paint applied to the components is of the highest standard, in accordance with organization's procedure and customer specifications.
Carry out correct preparation of components for painting by masking, abrading, cleaning, paint stripping and refinishing according to procedures.
Oversee the mix of paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture.
Prepare paint materials according to instructions and measure viscosity as per relevant paint specifications and customer requirements.
Carry out paint application using various application methods and tools to satisfy customer requirements.
Responsible for the overall cleanliness and orderliness of paint workshop and equipment used in paint preparation, application and testing.
Inspect materials and parts to ensure the fill of cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g. plaster).
Ensure paint surfaces are organised according to instructions with various tools.
Monitor the application of varnish and other finishes.
Adhere to all health and safety precautions.
Adhere to EPI Quality Standards and ensure the product meets customer expectations.
Data collection and recording in relevant forms and documents as required, ensuring all relevant documents have been signed off correctly after completion of work.
Verifying all working carried out has been done correctly and signing off documents.
Proactively communicate and address safety concerns.
Effective utilization of paint materials & Consumables.
Qualifications And Skills
High School Diploma & Trade Certification as a Painter or Relevant vocational Certification.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years experience as a Painter Technician
Experience operating various Painting Equipment's & various application methods (Experience on Spray Application is a must)
Previous work experience in NADCAP Certified environment is a plus
