As the company continues to expand, the Legal Department plays a critical role in safeguarding the company's legal interests, supporting commercial growth, ensuring regulatory compliance, and minimizing legal risk.
Role Summary
The Paralegal provides legal and administrative support to the Legal Department by assisting with contract management, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, intellectual property protection, litigation support, and legal research. The role requires exceptional attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail and international business environment.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management
- Draft, review, proofread, and format commercial agreements using approved templates.
- Maintain the company's contract database and document management system.
- Track contract renewals, expirations, and notice periods.
- Coordinate execution of contracts with internal stakeholders and external parties.
- Ensure all executed agreements are properly archived.
Corporate Governance
- Maintain corporate records, licenses, and statutory documents.
- Prepare board resolutions, powers of attorney, shareholder resolutions, and meeting minutes.
- Coordinate company registrations, renewals, and amendments across jurisdictions.
- Assist with corporate secretarial requirements.
Legal Research
- Conduct legal research on UAE laws, employment regulations, commercial matters, intellectual property, and international business issues.
- Summarize legal findings for management.
- Monitor changes in legislation affecting the company.
Compliance
- Assist in ensuring compliance with UAE laws and internal policies.
- Support implementation of compliance programs.
- Maintain compliance registers and reporting logs.
- Assist with anti-bribery, anti-money laundering, sanctions, data privacy, and corporate governance initiatives.
Intellectual Property
- Maintain records of trademarks, copyrights, and brand assets.
- Coordinate trademark registrations and renewals.
- Monitor unauthorized use of Carter & White intellectual property.
- Liaise with external intellectual property counsel.
Litigation Support
- Coordinate with external legal counsel.
- Prepare documentation required for legal proceedings.
- Maintain litigation files and evidence.
- Track court dates, deadlines, and legal expenses.
Retail & Commercial Support
- Review retail lease agreements.
- Support franchise, distribution, supplier, and procurement agreements.
- Assist with customer disputes and legal correspondence.
- Support real estate transactions for new store openings.
Employment Law Support
- Prepare employment-related legal documents.
- Assist with disciplinary matters and employee disputes.
- Support HR on legal compliance.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee legal records.
Document Management
- Organize and maintain legal filing systems.
- Prepare legal correspondence and reports.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive legal documents.
- Ensure document version control.
Risk Management
- Identify potential legal risks.
- Maintain legal risk registers.
- Assist with insurance claims and legal notices.
- Support internal investigations when required.

Qualifications
- Master & Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or Legal Studies.
- Paralegal certification is an advantage.
- 3–5 years of paralegal experience, preferably in retail, fashion, FMCG, or a corporate legal department.
- Experience working with UAE commercial and employment laws.
- Experience managing contracts and corporate records.
