Position
The applicant will be responsible for facilitating the University in managing its portfolio of existing, emerging, and new key academic, research, industry, government, and philanthropic partnerships and stakeholder engagement.
Job Role Description
Facilitate in the development of the University's partnership strategy in line with HBKU's vision and strategic objectives.
Contribute to the timely preparation across the university of partnership agreements as well as commercial opportunities (as appropriate), spanning from development, proposal drafting and signing of agreements.
Ensure and manage close partnership working, management at all levels within the institution, highlighting risk (proposal go / no go) and ensure proposal compliance to the University processes/procedures.
Follow up and monitor progress of signed agreements, prepares progress reports, propose/suggest corrective actions if there are concerns to the Partnerships Manager; support the renewal process of arrangements that need to be renewed.
Manage pipeline and generate new partnerships leads which leverage on multiversity ethos, inter-disciplinary working that supports the strategic objectives of the University.
Research and conduct analysis of the market to identify new local, regional, international academic and research collaboration opportunities.
Gather, aggregate, collect, analyze, and report high quality management information on the partnerships, provide recommendation and build intelligence to help identify further sources of collaboration, income, and relationships for the future.
Support Partnership Manager, HBKU entity focal points, and others in the management team to engage potential partners, sponsors and donors and lead the co-ordination effort to translate interest into comprehensive partnership agreements.
Develop partnership initiatives in priority areas as agreed with Executive Director Strategic Planning and Partnership and Partnership Manager, support operational interfaces, and ensure compliance with university and partner policies and procedures.
Contribute to the development of the University's integrated partnership model, protocol, processes, system, etc. Work with the University research team in sharing funding intelligence, opportunities to leverage impact and best practice.
Other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field & 6-8 years of relevant full-time work experience.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to plan and manage complex meeting schedules involving national and international travel (mostly regional) to meet with high-level government and corporate officials on matters of providing institutional support to HBKU students, faculty, and initiatives as appropriate and with academic administrative leadership, chairs and deans on collaborative academic and research programs.
Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications and to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of the Internet, social media platforms and MS Office applications.
Arabic proficiency and knowledge of GCC governments, protocols, and responsibilities is essential.
