Purpose:

The Payroll Accountant is responsible for accurately processing payroll for all employees in compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies. The role ensures timely salary disbursements, maintains payroll records, and supports reporting and reconciliation processes in coordination with HR and Finance departments.

Accountabilities:

Payroll Processing

Prepare and process monthly payroll for all employees in the system.

Ensure accurate calculation of earnings, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and end-of-service benefits.

Review and validate attendance, leave, and timesheet data prior to payroll submission

Compliance & Accuracy

Ensure payroll complies with Saudi labor laws, GOSI, and ZATCA tax regulations.

Process GOSI contributions, WPS file generation, and salary bank transfers.

Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of payroll information

Reporting & Reconciliation

Prepare payroll-related reports including salary registers, payslips, and audit files.

Reconcile payroll accounts with the general ledger and resolve discrepancies.

Support finance with month-end closing and accruals for payroll liabilities.

Employee Support & Documentation

Address employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues professionally and promptly.

Maintain up-to-date payroll files, employee records, and supporting documents.

Process final settlements, EOSB, and vacation encashment accurately.

Coordination & System Management

Coordinate with HR on new joiners, terminations, transfers, and promotions.

Ensure payroll system is updated and aligned with HR data.

Participate in payroll audits and system upgrades as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field

24 years of experience in payroll accounting or related finance roles

Familiarity with Saudi labor law, GOSI, and payroll tax compliance

Proficiency in payroll software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics)

Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.

Excellent confidentiality, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
