Job Description

Reports to: Peer Tutoring Program Manager

Purpose:

Under the guidance of the Peer Tutoring Program manager, the Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and continuous improvement of the AUC Peer Tutoring Center. The coordinator will lead research and design efforts related to student success initiatives, with a focus on academic support and achievement. This includes collecting and analyzing data on student attendance and feedback, coordinating the scheduling of tutoring sessions, and managing the program's marketing and communication efforts. The coordinator will also handle various administrative tasks to support the overall functioning of the peer tutoring program. The coordinator plays a vital role in empowering students to reach their full academic potential and become confident, self-directed, lifelong learners.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and optimize the scheduling of tutoring sessions to ensure adequate and accessible support for students across different hours and times of the semester.
  • Manage the logistics of the peer tutoring program, including room reservations, tutoring supplies, and other administrative tasks.
  • Collect and analyze relevant data on tutor performance, student attendance, and feedback to inform ongoing program improvements.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the center's services across campus and engage the undergraduate community.
  • Monitor the peer tutoring booking platform and promptly address any technical issues or user concerns to maintain a seamless student experience.
  • Plan and execute engaging student outreach and recognition events to foster a sense of community within the peer tutoring program.
  • Process tutor payments and program expenses in a timely manner, ensuring proper financial oversight and accountability.
  • Collaborate with the Peer Tutoring Program Manager to identify and implement innovative strategies for enhancing the overall effectiveness and impact of the peer tutoring program.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Peer Tutoring Program Manager or the Dean of Undergraduate Studies and Academy of Liberal Arts.

Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as Education, Business Administration, or Applied Sciences).

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of related experience.

Skills:

  • Operations & Logistics: Ability to oversee day-to-day operations, manage room reservations, and handle tutoring supplies.
  • Data Analysis: Collecting and analyzing data regarding student attendance, tutor performance, and feedback to drive program improvements.
  • Scheduling & Optimization: Coordinating complex schedules for tutoring sessions across various hours and semesters.
  • Marketing & Communication: Developing and implementing strategies to promote services and engage the undergraduate community.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Monitoring booking platforms and addressing technical issues or user concerns.
  • Financial Administration: Processing payments and expenses with proper oversight and accountability.
  • Event Planning: Organizing student outreach and recognition events to foster community.
  • Research & Design: Leading efforts related to student success initiatives and academic support.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with management and university leadership to implement innovative strategies.
