We are seeking a technically strong and detail-oriented Performance Test Engineer | Testing Engineer to design, execute, and analyze software performance and testing activities. This role will focus on ensuring applications, systems, and platforms meet performance, reliability, scalability, and quality requirements through structured testing, automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute performance, load, stress, endurance, scalability, and capacity tests.

• Develop comprehensive test plans, test strategies, test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts.

• Analyze application and system requirements to define appropriate performance-testing objectives and benchmarks.

• Establish performance baselines and identify system bottlenecks, scalability limitations, and performance degradation.

• Develop and maintain automated performance-testing scripts and test frameworks.

• Execute load tests with realistic user volumes, workloads, transactions, and usage patterns.

• Monitor application, server, database, network, and infrastructure performance during testing.

• Analyze CPU, memory, disk, network, database, API, response-time, throughput, and error-rate metrics.

• Identify performance bottlenecks and conduct root-cause analysis with development and infrastructure teams.

• Work closely with Software Developers, QA Engineers, DevOps, System Engineers, Database Administrators, and Product teams to resolve performance issues.

• Validate application response times, throughput, concurrency, stability, and resource utilization against defined requirements.

• Conduct API, backend, database, and end-to-end performance testing where required.

• Perform regression and re-testing after performance optimizations or system changes.

• Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines and automated testing processes where applicable.

• Configure and maintain test environments, test data, monitoring tools, and performance-testing infrastructure.

• Analyze test results and prepare detailed performance reports, dashboards, and recommendations.

• Track defects, performance issues, test findings, and corrective actions through appropriate testing or project-management systems.

• Support release readiness assessments by providing performance-testing results and quality recommendations.

• Identify risks related to scalability, reliability, capacity, and system stability before production deployment.

• Participate in capacity planning and help determine infrastructure requirements based on expected workloads.

• Develop performance models and realistic workload scenarios based on business requirements and production usage patterns.

• Support production-performance investigations and assist with diagnosing system performance incidents when required.

• Maintain accurate testing documentation, scripts, test data, configurations, and performance benchmarks.

• Continuously improve performance-testing methodologies, tools, automation frameworks, and testing processes.

• Research emerging performance-testing tools, technologies, and industry best practices.

• Ensure testing activities comply with internal quality standards, development methodologies, and project requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience in Performance Testing, Software Testing, QA Engineering, Test Engineering, or a related technical role.

• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, STLC, QA processes, and defect-management practices.

• Hands-on experience with performance-testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, k6, BlazeMeter, or similar platforms.

• Strong understanding of performance-testing concepts including load testing, stress testing, endurance testing, spike testing, scalability testing, and capacity testing.

• Experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts and performance-testing frameworks.

• Strong understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, REST APIs, web applications, client-server architecture, and distributed systems.

• Experience testing APIs, databases, backend services, and web-based applications.

• Good knowledge of SQL and database performance concepts.

• Familiarity with application monitoring and observability tools is preferred.

• Understanding of CPU, memory, disk I/O, network utilization, latency, throughput, concurrency, and response-time analysis.

• Experience with performance profiling and bottleneck identification.

• Familiarity with Linux/Unix and Windows environments.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud is an advantage.

• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and DevOps practices such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms is preferred.

• Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, Groovy, or similar is an advantage.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to interpret performance metrics and translate technical findings into actionable recommendations.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to software quality.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to manage multiple testing activities, deadlines, and priorities.

• Experience working in Agile, Scrum, DevOps, or CI/CD environments is preferred.

• Professional certifications such as ISTQB, Certified Performance Testing Specialist, or equivalent are an advantage.

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
