Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled PHE & Fire Design Engineer with 4–7 years of experience in engineering consultancy to join our multidisciplinary design team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and coordination of Plumbing, Public Health Engineering (PHE), and Fire Protection systems across residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, industrial, and mixed-use developments. The role involves delivering high-quality engineering designs from concept through IFC stage while ensuring compliance with international standards, local authority regulations, and company quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
PHE & Fire Protection Design
- Design plumbing, drainage, water supply, and firefighting systems for residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, industrial, and mixed-use developments.
- Prepare concept, schematic, detailed design, tender, and IFC drawings.
- Perform engineering calculations, hydraulic calculations, and equipment sizing in accordance with project requirements and applicable codes.
- Ensure all designs comply with international standards, including NFPA, IPC, ASPE, BS EN, and local authority regulations.
- Prepare design reports, technical documentation, and authority submission packages.
- Respond to design review comments and incorporate revisions into project deliverables.
- Maintain project documentation and ensure timely delivery in accordance with company quality standards.
Coordination
- Coordinate with Architectural, Structural, HVAC, Electrical, Civil, and BIM teams to deliver fully coordinated multidisciplinary designs.
- Participate in technical coordination meetings and design reviews.
- Support authority approvals and respond to technical comments where required.
Leadership
- Lead and coordinate a small design team by assigning tasks, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring compliance with project schedules and quality standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and BIM modelers.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline (Mandatory).
- 4–7 years of experience in Plumbing (PHE) and Fire Protection Design within an engineering consultancy.
- Strong knowledge of international codes and standards, including NFPA, IPC, ASPE, BS EN, and local authority regulations.
- Proven experience delivering residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, industrial, and mixed-use developments.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP; experience with BIM coordination is mandatory.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate a small design team while delivering projects within schedule and quality requirements.
- Strong communication, coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, LEED AP, Autodesk Certified Professional, or NFPA certifications are considered an advantage.
