PHP Developer (WordPress)

Role Summary

UniHawk is hiring a PHP-focused developer with 3+ years of experience to build and maintain custom WordPress core, themes, plugins, and integrations. Elementor is used as a delivery layer, but the role requires strong backend PHP ownership, clean architecture, and production-grade code.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins using modern PHP practices.

Implement business logic via hooks, actions, filters, CPTs, and custom admin screens.

Build secure REST API and webhook integrations (CRM, forms, booking, analytics).

Create custom Elementor widgets/templates when required (no plugin bloat).

Optimise performance, security, and database usage.

Support staging production workflows and safe releases.

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum 3 years of PHP-based WordPress development (real custom work).

Strong PHP fundamentals and WordPress internals (WP_Query, meta, options, cron).

Experience building custom plugins (OOP preferred).

Working knowledge of Elementor (dynamic content, templates).

REST APIs, authentication, error handling, and logging.

Git-based workflow and production deployment discipline.

ACF or similar meta frameworks

Performance tuning (caching, CDN, DB optimisation)

Technical SEO basics

AI-assisted coding tools with proper validation
