Job Description

About Enedroc

Enedroc is an energy and resource trading company specialising in the supply of conventional and alternative fuels to industrial clients across high-demand, frontier markets. Operating through an Irish commercial structure with direct on-the-ground execution in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the company integrates European sourcing with African industrial demand - leveraging its import/export licences, established offtake agreements, and strategic storage infrastructure at Matadi Port on the Congo River. Enedroc's trade book spans inbound fuel supply - SRF/RDF, coal, and petcoke - alongside the origination and export of raw material streams including woodchips and HDPE plastics, positioning the company at the intersection of energy security and the circular economy.

Enedroc is backed and funded by Forsage Holdings, an Irish family office with a multi-sector investment portfolio spanning Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa, providing the company with both long-term capital commitment and institutional commercial support.

About the role

Enedroc is building out a physical trading desk focused on a high-margin, underdeveloped trade corridor between Europe and Central Africa. The desk runs two complementary legs: sourcing waste-derived and fossil fuels in Europe for delivery into the DRC industrial market, and originating raw material export streams - woodchips and HDPE plastics - out of the DRC for European and Asian markets.

You will own both sides of this book: origination, trade structuring, logistics execution, and P&L. The role is backed by real infrastructure - import/export licences, storage at Matadi Port, and some existing offtake relationships - but requires someone and experienced candidate to scale it from a standing start.

Trade flows

Into DRC (inbound)

  • SRF / RDF (waste-derived fuel)
  • Petcoke
  • Coal

↓↑

Out of DRC (outbound)

  • Woodchips / biomass
  • HDPE plastics

What you will do

  • Originate and close physical trades across both legs of the book - spot cargoes and term supply agreements
  • Build supplier relationships in Europe and Asia (recyclers, waste processors, coal/petcoke traders) and through local staff oversee offtaker relationships in DRC (cement, industrial, manufacturing)
  • Source and develop export streams out of DRC: woodchip aggregation and HDPE collection/export to buyers
  • Build full trade economics: FOB/CIF pricing, freight optimisation, port costs, gate fees, and working capital requirements
  • Structure transactions using LCs, prepayment structures, and supplier/offtaker credit
  • Manage end-to-end trade lifecycle - contract through shipment, delivery, and payment - coordinating with Matadi port operators, freight providers, and inspection companies
  • Navigate DRC import/export customs, port logistics, and local counterparty frameworks
  • Identify blended fuel substitution opportunities (e.g. coal ↔ RDF/SRF) to optimise margin across the inbound book

What we are looking for

Required

  • 5–12+ years in physical commodity trading with real P&L ownership
  • Direct experience in at least two of: SRF/RDF, Coal, Petcoke, Biomass, or Plastics (HDPE)
  • Strong grasp of international trade flows, commodity specs, and freight markets
  • Experience structuring transactions with LCs and trade finance instruments
  • Comfortable operating independently in a lean, remote-first structure

Highly valued

  • Trading experience into or out of Africa — particularly Central or West Africa
  • Familiarity with cement/industrial fuel demand and switching economics
  • Experience in frontier or emerging market execution environments
  • Waste-to-energy or circular economy value chain exposure
  • French language skills ( major advantage)

Compensation:

  • Competitive base salary
  • Performance Bonus-linked to trading P&L
  • Deal-based commissions
