GENERAL ROLE:

Pilates (Mat & Reformer) at Miraval The Red Sea is a passionate movement professional who guides guests through engaging, safe, and inspiring Pilates experiences. Rooted in mindful movement and Miraval's holistic philosophy, this role supports guests in building strength, flexibility, postural awareness, and inner balance. The instructor creates tailored sessions for diverse fitness levels, offering a mix of group classes and private instruction, while collaborating with wellness teams to develop innovative, integrative Pilates offerings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Please note that the responsibilities outlined below are not exhaustive. Miraval The Red Sea colleagues continuously innovate in caring for the needs of the business, their guests, and their colleagues. As Pilates Instructor you will need to:

Guest Experience & Instruction:

  • Lead dynamic Pilates sessions, including Mat and Reformer classes, in both group and one-on-one formats.
  • Customize classes to accommodate all levels, from beginners to advanced, with a focus on core strength, posture, breath, and mindful movement.
  • Promote body awareness, injury prevention, and emotional resilience through the principles of Pilates.
  • Inspire guests to connect deeper with their bodies and build sustainable wellness habits.
  • Ensure a safe, welcoming, and empowering class environment that reflects Miraval's values.

Program Design & Innovation:

  • Collaborate with the wellness team to design Pilates-based programs aligned with Miraval's integrative approach.
  • Develop specialty sessions such as Pilates for relaxation, core awareness, spine mobility, or posture enhancement.
  • Contribute to immersive wellness retreats or signature experiences centered on Pilates and mindful movement.
  • Stay current with trends in Pilates, fitness, and functional movement to keep offerings fresh and relevant.

Safety & Risk Management:

  • Conduct routine checks on all Pilates equipmentincluding Reformers, mats, props, and accessoriesto ensure proper function and cleanliness.
  • Immediately report any equipment issues or hazards to management and take appropriate action to remove or replace compromised tools.
  • Ensure all sessions follow proper health, safety, and sanitation protocols in line with Saudi Arabia's regulations and Miraval's standards.
  • Guide guests through movements with careful attention to alignment, form, and modifications to prevent injury.
  • Stay certified in CPR, First Aid, or other safety certifications as required by the resort.

Operations & Standards:

  • Maintain and reset studio spaces before and after each class.
  • Support fitness assessments and personalized guest programs.
  • Respect and reflect cultural sensitivity in all interactions.
  • Participate in operational briefings and wellness team meetings.

Revenue Generation & Guest Upselling:

  • Actively and mindfully promote paid private sessions, group classes, spa and wellness programs, and exclusive events through outstanding guest engagement and personalized recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the spa, wellness and retail teams to cross-sell relevant services and retail items.
  • Deliver service with warmth, sincerity, and deep product knowledge, naturally encouraging guests to explore more of what Miraval has to offer.
  • Contribute to departmental revenue goals by meeting personal upselling targets in an authentic and guest-centric way.

Teamwork & Growth:

  • Collaborate with yoga, fitness, and well-being teams to offer a seamless guest journey.
  • Mentor junior instructors and contribute to an uplifting, team-oriented environment.
  • Actively participate in Miraval's professional development programs and ongoing training.
  • Share feedback and insights to continuously elevate the guest experience.

Engagement & Promotion:

  • Provide content and insights for wellness blog posts, guest materials, and marketing initiatives.
  • Represent Pilates and Miraval at select wellness events, internally and externally.
  • Collect and respond to guest feedback to enhance and evolve Pilates offerings.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certified Pilates Instructor with strong training in both Mat and Reformer Pilates (PMA or equivalent preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience teaching Pilates in luxury resorts, wellness retreats, or boutique studios.
  • Deep knowledge of anatomy, movement mechanics, and postural alignment.
  • Experience adapting sessions for different ages, abilities, and fitness levels.
  • Additional certifications in Yoga, Barre, Functional Training, Somatics, or other fitness disciplines are a strong advantage.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
