Placement Director MENA

Location To be located in the GCC Region

Experience Proven track record of fundraising within private markets (GCC Region)

The Client

My client is a fast-growing global placement firm, with offices in the UK that covers LPs across 20+ Countries globally (UK / EU / Asia / some GCC).

They specialise in fundraising and advisory services for private markets and alternative investment funds, primarily across the US and Europe, connecting them with a global LP base that includes family offices, private wealth platforms, and institutional investors. Currently, they are servicing 12 mandates (6 private credit funds, 2 private equity funds, 1 venture capital fund, and 3 real estate managers). More than 60% of these clients are managers with over $1bn in AUM, and several are actively seeking to access LPs across the GCC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the business growth expansion to GCC
  • Lead Fundraising efforts across GCC on private market funds.
  • Manage end-to-end capital raising processes, coordinating with internal investment teams, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients to provide fundraising updates, capture investor feedback, and strengthen ongoing relationships.
  • Provide insights on investor sentiment, competitive positioning, and market developments to clients and internal teams.
  • Represent the firm at industry conferences, investor meetings, and networking events to enhance visibility and relationships across the European LP community.

Requirements & Competencies:

  • Min of 10+ years of experience in private markets fundraising, investor relations, or capital formation - ideally within a placement agent or fund distribution environment.
  • Demonstrated success raising capital from GCC investors across various private market / alternative funds strategies.
  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills, with experience engaging C-suite and senior investment decision-makers.
  • Highly organised and proactive, with strong project management abilities and attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Understanding local cultures & norms to help with expansion
  • Understanding & implementation of required Compliance/Regulatory authorisations
