Job Description
Job Summary
The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules to ensure timely completion of projects. The role involves coordinating with project teams, tracking progress, identifying delays, preparing recovery plans, and providing management with accurate planning and reporting information
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
Prepare baseline programs, work breakdown structures (WBS), and resource-loaded schedules.
Monitor project progress and update schedules on a regular basis.
Analyze schedule variances and identify potential delays and risks.
Prepare recovery and mitigation plans to maintain project timelines.
Generate weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and look-ahead schedules.
Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, procurement, and subcontractors regarding project progress.
Conduct critical path analysis and recommend corrective actions.
Monitor resource utilization and productivity trends.
Review contractor and subcontractor schedules for compliance with project requirements.
Assist in preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) claims and delay analysis.
Participate in project meetings and present planning updates to management and clients.
Ensure planning activities comply with contractual requirements and company procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 5-15 years of planning and scheduling experience in construction, infrastructure, Buildings.
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
PMP certification is advantageous.
Primavera P6 certification preferred.
Understanding of project controls, scheduling techniques, and earned value management.
Knowledge of delay analysis and claims management.
Working Conditions
Work may involve office-based and site-based activities.
Occasional travel to project locations as required.
