Role Overview

The Planning Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of construction projects by developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules. This position significantly contributes to the organization's goals by effectively managing timelines, resources, and budgets, thereby facilitating the smooth progress of projects from inception to completion. The Planning Engineer collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to identify potential delays, analyze project performance, and implement corrective actions as necessary.

With a minimum of 4 years of experience, the ideal candidate will bring a wealth of knowledge in project management and civil engineering, ensuring that they can navigate the complexities of large-scale construction projects while delivering precise and actionable insights to the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using Primavera and MS Project to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Conduct thorough project delay analysis to identify and mitigate risks that may impact project timelines.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, providing regular status updates and reports to stakeholders.
  • Implement cost and budget control measures to ensure that projects are completed within financial constraints.
  • Analyze resource allocation and optimize project workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on project performance metrics and potential areas for improvement.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying best practices and lessons learned from completed projects.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in project management software, particularly Primavera and MS Project.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable insights.
  • Experience in cost and budget control, ensuring project adherence to financial plans.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the capacity to address challenges proactively and efficiently.

Experience Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience in planning and project management within the construction industry. Experience working on large-scale construction projects or within a reputable engineering firm is highly desirable. The candidate should demonstrate a track record of leading projects, managing project teams, and successfully delivering results in dynamic environments.
