Role Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Planning Engineer to join our dynamic team in United Arab Emirates. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring project schedules for our projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar planning tools.
- Collaborate with Resident Engineers, Project Managers, Engineers and stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Monitor project progress and performance, identifying potential delays and proposing appropriate solutions.
- Prepare and analyze detailed project schedules, including critical path activities and resource allocation.
- Prepare and analyze cash flows, labor histograms with resource levelling.
- Conduct regular project reviews and provide status reports to senior management and clients.
- Evaluate and analyze reported progress, identifying areas of concern impacting project completion.
- Review resource deployment and recommend enhancements to meet completion schedules.
- Prepare internal weekly and monthly project status reports and presentations.
- Evaluate variation requests and claims for schedule extensions, providing recommendations to management.
- Develop and maintain risk analysis and mitigation measures.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to align their schedules with the overall project timeline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering/architecture/construction management.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in construction project planning and scheduling.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and industry best practice.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skill.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
Requirements
- Proven experience in the UAE construction industry.
- In-depth understanding of local regulations and standards in UAE.
- Experience with large-scale projects such as high-rise buildings, hospitality and mixed-use buildings.
- Ability to prepare cash flow projections, key performance indicator charts, and manpower histograms.
Preferred Skills
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or CPP (Certified Planning Professional) certification.
- Experience with cost control and budget management.
- Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modelling) is a plus.
