Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) is seeking a Planning Engineer to support construction and site services projects across the Middle East, ensuring effective planning, scheduling, cost control, and timely project delivery.

The role supports KES Construction/Services in planning, estimating, tendering, project controls, contract support, site reporting, invoicing, and documentation. The Planning Engineer will coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, subcontractors, and project teams to monitor progress, manage risks, and support informed project decisions.

This role is primarily office-based in Dammam, with periodic on-site presence at project locations across the Middle East.


What You Will Do

  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Prepare baseline, look-ahead, recovery, resource-loaded, and cost-loaded schedules.
  • Monitor progress, analyze critical paths, identify schedule risks, and recommend mitigation or recovery actions.
  • Coordinate schedule inputs from engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, subcontractors, and site teams.
  • Prepare progress reports, dashboards, schedule narratives, and project status updates for management and clients.
  • Support tendering, estimation, change orders, claims, extensions of time, and contract variation analysis.
  • Review and manage construction planning documents, including method statements, mobilization plans, resource plans, and project schedules.
  • Track project costs, variations, timesheets, invoices, and payment-related information.
  • Visit project sites as required to verify progress, support claims, and gather project information.
  • Work with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to support safe, efficient, and timely project execution.

Pre-contract and estimating support

  • Attend pre-contract clarification meetings and support tender follow-up activities.
  • Prepare construction estimates, schedules, price breakdowns, and subcontractor RFQs.
  • Review third-party bids and support technical, commercial, and schedule evaluations.
  • Assess risks, recommend contingencies, and identify proposal optimization opportunities.
  • Maintain estimate records, work plans, and strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, clients, and internal teams.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bacheloru2019s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline preferred.
  • Experience in project planning, scheduling, and construction cost estimation within the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, and other project controls tools.
  • Strong communication, coordination, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills inxa0English and Arabic.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and coordinate with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.

  • Willingness to travel up to 40%.

  • PMI-SP, PSP, PMP, or equivalent certifications.
