Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Planning Engineer leads the planning and scheduling functions across large-scale projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives, timelines, and budgets.
Programme Development & Management
- Preparation, submission and updating of baseline programme.
- Follow-up subcontractors programs in coordination with baseline programme.
- Prepare and maintain the project As Built program and close out schedule.
- Prepare regular updates and track schedule of resources (plant and manpower) to meet activities milestones.
- Prepare regular updates, and tracks material schedules (submissions, approvals, orders, deliveries in accordance with contract schedule ensuring timely availability of materials whilst preventing negative schedule impact) and produce related reports to the Planning Manager.
- Overview performance of weekly backups of all modified and submitted schedules.
Reporting & Communication
- Generate and/or review periodical reports, and lookaheads.
- Initiation / responding to all planning / time related correspondence to consultant / subcontractors.
- Attend all Site coordination meetings.
- Overview the inputs information on progress from/by site personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Analysis & Claims
- Prepare cost / time impact studies on variations to project to determine whether the claim is warranted in conjunction with the planning manager.
- Assist to Prepare the Extension of Time (EoT) claims and support forensic schedule analysis.
Risk Management & Mitigation
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor the progress of the work against the contractual schedule, advise the Planning Manager on schedule slippage and prepare recovery plans.
Coordination & Compliance
- Liaise with the relevant site departments to expedite document processes (Submission, approval, orders etc.) to commence work activity and avoid slippage, all coordinated with the Planning Manager.
- Ensure compliance with ACC Planning Department SOP.
Mentoring & Team Support
- Mentor and review the work of junior and planning engineers.
- Prepare and maintain production rates for equipment and labor for all trades.
Required Qualifications & Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil / Architecture.
- 10+ years of experience in planning roles on complex projects (high-rise, villas, lasgre scale building projects).
- Solid knowledge of Project scheduling, Risk management, Data analysis
- Solid knowledge of Critical path method and Forensic schedule analysis
- Solid knowledge of claims, EOT analysis, and contractual terms.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentations skills.
- Team collaboration and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in project management software, Primavera P6 and advanced Excel, (Power BI preferred).
- Proficiency in English language(writing and speaking)
