Job Description

Currie & Brown is seeking an experienced Planning Manager to join our Singapore team. This role is responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring project schedules across major construction projects, ensuring successful planning, progress tracking, and timely project delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams to provide strategic planning expertise throughout the project lifecycle.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a global project and cost management consultancy delivering complex projects across sectors including Data Centres, Commercial, Healthcare, Industrial, Manufacturing, Life Sciences, and Infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and manage integrated project schedules from design through construction and commissioning.
  • Prepare baseline programmes, detailed project schedules, and milestone plans using Primavera P6 or equivalent planning software.
  • Monitor project progress against approved schedules and identify critical path activities.
  • Conduct schedule risk analysis and develop mitigation and recovery programmes where necessary.
  • Produce regular progress reports, dashboards, and executive-level schedule updates.
  • Analyse project performance using Earned Value Management (EVM) principles where applicable.
  • Coordinate planning activities between clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams.
  • Review contractor programmes and assess compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Support project controls functions including reporting, forecasting, change management, and risk management.
  • Facilitate planning workshops and schedule review meetings with stakeholders.
  • Identify schedule delays and recommend corrective actions to minimise project impacts.
  • Ensure planning standards, methodologies, and governance processes are consistently applied.
  • Mentor junior planners and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the planning team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 512 years of planning and scheduling experience within the construction industry.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale construction projects in Singapore or the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Experience in one or more of the following sectors is highly desirable:
  • Data Centres
  • Commercial Developments
  • Industrial Facilities
  • Manufacturing
  • Healthcare
  • Infrastructure
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 is essential.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project, Power BI, Excel, and project controls software is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM), schedule analysis, and project controls.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, contracts, and project specifications.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong report writing and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional), AACE, or equivalent are advantageous.
  • Experience working within a consultancy environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of NEC, FIDIC, or other standard forms of contract is beneficial.
