Role Overview
The Planning Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning and scheduling functions for multiple projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and client expectations. This role entails a significant level of responsibility in managing project timelines, resources, and risk assessments throughout all phases of project deliveryfrom initial planning through to construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement project management frameworks and strategies to optimize planning processes across multiple projects.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of planning engineers, ensuring effective collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Project Scheduling: Oversee the preparation and maintenance of comprehensive project schedules, including key tasks, milestones, and deliverables.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks and constraints within project programmes, implementing proactive measures to address delays.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure project alignment with strategic goals and client expectations.
- Performance Monitoring: Track project performance against established timelines and budgets, analyzing data to improve efficiency and control costs.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular progress reports, highlighting critical activities, delays, and mitigation strategies to senior management and stakeholders.
- Site Oversight: Conduct site visits to verify progress, compliance with project plans, and ensure proper resource allocation.
About You
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Experience: 16+ years of professional experience in project planning and scheduling, with a proven track record in a managerial capacity.
- Industry Expertise: Extensive experience working on high-rise towers, hotel developments, or large-scale building projects within the GCC.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Primavera P6 or similar planning software, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Leadership Qualities: Strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively.
- Process Improvement: A deep understanding of construction sequencing, resource planning, and cost monitoring, with a focus on continuous improvement.
