Job Description


Job Purpose:

Responsible for planning, scheduling, and controlling service and manufacturing activities across Oil & Gas, Motors, Transformers, and industrial manufacturing. The role ensures effective utilization of manpower, materials, workshop capacity, and equipment while meeting customer delivery dates, quality standards, and operational targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop master and detailed plans for service, repair, overhaul, testing, and manufacturing activities.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and long-term workload and capacity plans.
  • Establish priorities based on customer commitments, equipment criticality, material availability, and workshop capacity.
  • Coordinate schedules for Oil & Gas equipment, motors, transformers, and manufacturing jobs.
  • Monitor planned versus actual progress and implement recovery plans when delays occur.
  • Maintain accurate job completion forecasts and delivery dates.

Resource & Capacity Planning

  • Plan manpower requirements by trade, skill, workshop, and project.
  • Coordinate resource allocation with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Service teams.
  • Monitor workshop, machine, testing-bay, and equipment capacity.
  • Identify capacity constraints and recommend overtime, outsourcing, subcontracting, or resource reallocation.
  • Support workforce and annual capacity planning based on expected workload.

Materials & Procurement Coordination

  • Review Bills of Materials, spare-parts requirements, and material availability.
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Stores, Engineering, and Suppliers to ensure materials are available according to the production/service schedule.
  • Monitor long-lead items and critical spare parts.
  • Highlight material shortages that may impact customer delivery.

Service & Project Control

  • Monitor all active service and manufacturing jobs from receipt through completion and delivery.
  • Track milestones including:
  • Inspection
  • Dismantling
  • Engineering assessment
  • Repair
  • Rewinding
  • Machining
  • Assembly
  • Testing
  • Painting
  • Final inspection
  • Dispatch
  • Conduct regular planning and progress meetings with relevant departments.
  • Issue progress reports and highlight risks, delays, and corrective actions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in PMP, Primavera P6, Planning & Scheduling, Supply Chain, or Lean Manufacturing is an advantage.
