Job Description

Position Overview:


The Senior Planning Manager is responsible for leading and managing all project planning, scheduling, and progress measurement activities for the Hail & Ghasha plant construction project. The role ensures alignment with ADNOC standards, Technip Energies (Tecnimont) project procedures, and contractual requirements. The position demands strong technical, analytical, and leadership skills to manage a multidisciplinary EPC project schedule from engineering through procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, and handover.


Key Responsibilities:



  1. Project Planning & Scheduling



  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Level 1 to Level 5 project schedules in Primavera P6 aligned with the project execution plan (PEP).

  • Integrate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning schedules into one master EPC schedule.

  • Establish Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) consistent with ADNOC and company procedures.

  • Identify and manage critical path activities, milestones, and interfaces among multiple work packages.

  • Coordinate and monitor subcontractor schedules ensuring full alignment with the master schedule.



  1. Progress Measurement & Reporting



  • Develop and maintain project progress measurement systems (PMS) for all disciplines (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning).

  • Produce weekly and monthly progress reports, highlighting progress curves, S-curves, variances, and forecasts.

  • Analyze deviations, recommend corrective actions, and prepare recovery or mitigation schedules as required.

  • Prepare detailed reports and dashboards for ADNOC and internal management.



  1. Construction Phase Planning



  • Lead site planning teams in developing micro schedules, manpower histograms, resource leveling, and productivity analysis.

  • Track construction progress for civil, structural, mechanical, piping, E&I, and pre-commissioning activities.

  • Liaise with site managers to validate actual progress, constraints, and workfront availability.

  • Ensure proper integration of interface schedules between different EPC packages and contractors.



  1. Interface & Coordination



  • Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning Managers to align discipline schedules.

  • Coordinate with ADNOC representatives, consultants, and PMC for schedule approval and updates.

  • Represent project planning during progress meetings, client reviews, and audits.

  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC Codes, Standards, and Project Controls Procedures.



  1. Risk & Change Management



  • Conduct schedule risk analysis and simulation using tools like Primavera Risk Analysis / Pertmaster.

  • Evaluate impact of scope changes, design revisions, and delays on project timeline.

  • Support claims and extension-of-time (EoT) analyses in coordination with the Contracts team.

  • Maintain Change Control Log and provide time-impact analysis (TIA) for variations.


Technical Skills & Competencies:



  • Expert in Primavera P6 (Enterprise environment), MS Project, and Power BI / Excel reporting.

  • Sound understanding of EPC project lifecycle including Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning.

  • Strong knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and project performance KPIs.

  • Proficient in resource & cost loading, S-curve generation, and manpower histograms.

  • Familiarity with ADNOC project control procedures, FEL stages, and Gate Review processes.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Leadership ability to guide a team of planners and interface with multidisciplinary departments.


Qualification & Experience:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Industrial).

  • Minimum 15+ years of experience in project planning and controls within Oil & Gas / Petrochemical / LNG / Refinery EPC projects.

  • Minimum 10 years in a senior planning leadership role on major ADNOC or Middle East EPC projects.

  • Experience with Technip Energies / Tecnimont / ADNOC projects will be a distinct advantage.

  • Demonstrated expertise in Construction planning of Process Plants, including piping, static & rotary equipment, E&I systems, and pre-commissioning.
