Planning & Scheduling Section Head - Railway

We are looking for you as early as possible as Planning & Scheduling Section Head for our for the primary location Cairo.

The role:

Reporting to the Planning & Logistics Manager, the Planning & Scheduling Section Head leads the Planning & Scheduling Engineers, CMMS Operations Administrators and Maintenance Report Analyst. The role converts approved maintenance requirements into practical, resourced and coordinated plans and schedules across weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual horizons. It also governs Level 1 CMMS operational support and planning performance while preserving Asset Management Level 2 and IT Level 3 accountabilities.

Your responsibilities:

• Lead the Planning & Scheduling Section, managing workload, competence, coverage, priorities and performance across all section roles.
• Govern the maintenance planning and scheduling operating model and coordinate weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual planning outputs.
• Convert approved Asset Management maintenance strategies and technical requirements into practical plans and schedules aligned with resources and operational constraints.
• Coordinate timing, sequencing and access with Maintenance Delivery; resolve workload conflicts, manage schedule recovery and escalate unresolved resource constraints.
• Coordinate preventive-maintenance plans and forward schedules, integrating Maintenance Report Analyst outputs to monitor schedule adherence, PM compliance, backlog and overdue or deferred work.
• Oversee forward consumables-demand forecasting against approved maintenance plans and coordinate requirements with Warehouse, Stores and Procurement without assuming inventory-policy ownership.
• Ensure approved plans and schedules are accurately represented in the CMMS with complete planning-to-execution traceability.
• Oversee first-line operational CMMS support and route Level 2 functional matters to Asset Management and Level 3 platform or availability issues to IT.
• Approve section workflows and operational handover of planning outputs within delegated authority, and recommend controlled improvements through the Management of Change process.

Your profile/ qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Operations Management or a related discipline — required.
• Relevant experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, CMMS/EAM operations or maintenance management.
• Experience leading a planning, scheduling, maintenance-control or system-support workstream.
• Working knowledge of maintenance-planning principles, preventive-maintenance programmes and multiple scheduling horizons.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate maintenance priorities, resources, access constraints, workload peaks and schedule recovery.
• Practical CMMS/EAM operational experience, including planning-to-CMMS traceability and first-line user support.
• Experience monitoring schedule adherence, PM compliance, backlog, work-order status and maintenance performance.
• Ability to develop forward consumables-demand forecasts and coordinate requirements with Warehouse and Procurement.
• Working knowledge of ISO 55001, BS EN 13306, BS EN 15341 and BS EN 13460 where applicable.
• Experience preparing maintenance-performance information and maintaining controlled planning records, reports and work instructions.
