Intertrade Co., established in 1984, is a leading family-owned business in Egypt, specializing in manufacturing PVC gaskets, compounds, and magnetic strips. Located in 10th of Ramadan City, Al Sharkia.
Intertrade is seeking an experienced Planning Section Head to lead and manage production planning activities across the factory. This role is responsible for translating customer orders into feasible and executable production plans, ensuring alignment between demand, capacity, materials, and operational constraints in a make-to-order manufacturing environment. The Planning Section Head will play a critical role in maintaining planning discipline, ensuring accurate ERP execution, improving plan adherence, and driving cross-functional alignment with Production, Sales, Purchasing, and Quality. The role also includes leading the planning team and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the factory. The Planning Section Head will oversee planning and scheduling production activities to ensure efficient operations and optimal use of resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and own production planning activities for PVC gaskets, magnetic strips, and PVC compound.
- Develop and approve master production plans and detailed schedules based on confirmed sales orders, capacity, and material availability.
- Translate customer demand into realistic and achievable production plans while managing constraints and priorities.
- Monitor plan execution on the shop floor and ensure adherence to approved schedules.
- Identify production bottlenecks, risks, and deviations, and lead corrective planning actions.
- Coordinate closely with Sales and Customer Service to align delivery commitments with operational feasibility.
- Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
- Own and control planning-related processes in Odoo ERP, ensuring data accuracy, discipline, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor planning KPIs such as plan adherence, on-time delivery, lead times, and schedule stability.
- Provide validated planning data to support production performance tracking and incentives.
- Lead regular planning alignment meetings with Warehouse, Production, Sales, Purchasing, and Quality.
- Supervise and develop Planning Engineers and Production Follow-Up Specialists.
- Ensure proper documentation of planning processes, workflows, and SOPs.
- Support Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing waste, downtime, and planning variability.
- Act as the main planning escalation point for management on delivery risks and capacity constraints.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Production Planning, Scheduling, and Resource Allocation.
- Proficiency in Data Analysis, Forecasting, and Decision-Making skills.
- Hands-on experience using Odoo ERP system for production planning and execution.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for planning analysis and reporting.
- Professional certifications related to production planning, supply chain, or operations (e.g., APICS CPIM / CSCP, Six Sigma, Operations or Production Planning certifications).
- Experience in the home appliances industry, plastics manufacturing, PVC products, or similar continuous or semi-continuous manufacturing environments.
- Experience working in a make-to-order (MTO) manufacturing model.
- Advanced Excel or data analysis certification is an advantage.
- Effective Communication, Leadership, and Collaboration abilities.
