Job Summary

Responsible for managing and executing quality assurance and quality control activities for offshore and onshore oil & gas projects. The role ensures inspection, testing, welding, and materials activities comply with project specifications, international codes, and industry standards. The QA/QC Engineer will oversee inspection processes, review quality documentation, and coordinate with vendors, contractors, and project teams to maintain quality compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform QA/QC inspection and testing activities for pressure-retaining equipment including pressure vessels, piping systems, and related components.
  • Ensure compliance with international codes, standards, and project specifications for oil & gas and petrochemical projects.
  • Monitor welding activities and review welding documentation including WPS, PQR, and welder qualification records.
  • Conduct inspection and evaluation of materials such as plates, pipes, fittings, flanges, valves, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, and structural components.
  • Coordinate and monitor non-destructive testing (NDT) activities including RT, UT, PT, and MT.
  • Prepare and review QA/QC documentation, inspection test plans, and quality procedures.
  • Identify non-conformities, initiate NCRs, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Participate in pre-inspection meetings and coordinate third-party inspections at vendor facilities.
  • Conduct technical bid evaluations and review purchase requisitions related to materials and equipment.
  • Perform vendor qualification assessments, technical audits, and site verification activities.
  • Support fabrication shop and site erection activities ensuring compliance with project quality standards.
  • Prepare technical reports, quality alerts, and inspection documentation.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination with project teams, vendors, and contractors.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with strong knowledge of Metallurgy.
  • NDT Level II certification in RT, UT, PT, and MT.
  • Certified Lead Auditor qualification.
  • Professional Welding certification such as EWI / IIW / CSWIP / AWS / API.
  • Minimum 12–15 years of experience in QA/QC inspection activities in offshore and onshore oil & gas industries.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a lead or supervisory role within QA/QC functions.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, metallurgy, materials engineering, and failure analysis.
  • Experience in preparation and review of WPS, PQR, NDT procedures, and QA/QC documentation.
  • Experience working in petrochemical or oil & gas plants, fabrication shops, or site erection activities.
  • Familiarity with international codes, standards, and oil & gas industry practices.
  • Knowledge of material procurement QA/QC processes including purchase requisition review, technical bid evaluation, and vendor inspection coordination.
  • Experience in vendor assessment, technical audits, and manufacturer qualification processes.
  • Strong communication skills in written and spoken English and ability to prepare technical reports.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP.
