Platform Engineering Lead

Job Description

We are looking for aPlatform Engineer Leadto take ownership ofday-to-day delivery and operational coordination within the Platform Engineering team. This is atechnical leadership role (not managerial) , approximately80% of the time will be hands-on engineering, while the remaining time will focus on mentorship, task coordination, and ensuring the team operates efficiently. The Platform Engineer Lead will guide the team through technical challenges, maintain operational consistency, and drive continuous improvement across infrastructure, automation, and observability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead theexecution and coordinationof daily platform engineering activities.
• Lead and mentor a team of platform engineers, providing coaching and technical guidance.
• Mentor and coach mid-level engineers to build depth and autonomy in the team.
• Guide engineers through technical challenges, ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Stay hands-on in managing deployments, IaC, and Kubernetes operations.
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure.
• Define platform standards and enforce best practices across automation, observability, and security.
• Oversee infrastructure-as-code development and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization for critical workloads.
• Implement and maintain robust secrets management, SSL/TLS security, and IAM practices.
• Drive automation and efficiency improvements across infrastructure operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align platform capabilities with business needs.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident management, ensuring quick recovery and post-incident reviews.
• Continuously evaluate new technologies to enhance platform stability and scalability.
  
  

Essential

Job Requirements

• 46 yearsof experience in Platform, DevOps, or Cloud Infrastructure engineering.
• Strong technical skills inKubernetes,Terraform, andCI/CD pipelines.
• Experience operatingVault, managing certificates, SSL/TLS, and IAM.
• SolidLinux administration and troubleshootingbackground.
• Familiarity withobservability stacks(Prometheus, Grafana, Loki).
• Hands-on approach comfortable writing code, automating, and troubleshooting.
• Proven ability tomentor peersand lead technical delivery without formal authority.
• Experience handling incidents and maintaining uptime in production environments.
• Excellent communication, prioritization, and collaboration skills.

Certifications (Preferred/Advantageous)

• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
• Professional-level Cloud Certification (OCI, AWS, GCP)
