Position: Port Captain
Job Location: Abu Dhabi (UAE)
- STCW white list Class-1 Chief Engineer.
- Age 30 - 65 years.
- Minimum 4 years experience in the rank of Chief Engineer on types of vessel and engine types similar to those operated by the Company.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Computer literate.
- Salary : 30-35k + Family benefits
- Responsible for seaworthiness of all Company Vessels, Marine Units, Associated Equipment.
- Ensuring the implementation of the Company Preventive Maintenance System.
- To ensure the successful, safe and profitable conduct of the vessel maintenance.
- Maintain monthly vessels maintenance reports.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor the performance of all Chief Engineers and to ensure they perform according to Company Policy, Client Standards & Flag State Regulation.
- Follow up all technical aspects of company fleet and monitor/arrange required maintenance/repair by approved technical service provider.
- Assist the purchasing department to place the order for spare parts / equipment required for the vessels.
- Monitor stock level of spare parts on-board ships and according to ships inventory.
- Organize all dry-docking matters which include, preparation of specification, procurement of spares / material, obtain quotation, analyses costs, attendance of repair works & negotiate / discuss scope of completed works with shipyards
- Organize head office and ships filing system (Technical) and maintain records of all vessels including instruction books / manuals/drawing.
- Ensure the implementation of all company technical programs / policies with respect to, recording machinery performances, completion of machinery logs and maintaining the vessel in good working order.
- To maintain proper records for supplies of spare parts / machinery & equipment and periodically monitor a directory of Approved suppliers / manufacturers of equipment installed on the companys vessels.
- Introduce and periodically monitor technical procedures / instruction to enhance capabilities / familiarization of the existing technical staff with the equipment / systems of vessels.
- Responsible for the technical service provider inspection and proposal for registration as per company procedure & templates.
- Responsible for obtaining contracts with technical service providers.
- To assist operation department to conduct ADNOC vetting inspections/closeouts as required for the vessels operation.
- To monitor / arrange lifting gears inspection/certification through the approved 3rdparty as required
