Job description
- Coordinating berthing and unberthing of vessels and ensuring safe vessels traffic within various Egyptian ports.
- Overseeing the loading and unloading of cargo, handling cargo storage and handling equipment, and ensuring efficient cargo flow.
- Follow up with customs clearance procedures.
- Preparing, arranging and filing all documents related to cargo loading/discharging at ports.
- Follow up cargo readiness in accordance with vessels schedules.
- Coordinating with shipping companies, customs clearance agents, port authorities, and other relevant parties to ensure smooth operations and timely vessel turnaround.
- Maintain cost-effective operations and the highest standards.
- Ensuring compliance with international maritime laws, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Responding to and managing any incidents or emergencies that may arise during port operations 24/7.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of maritime operations, port procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with port infrastructure, cargo handling equipment, and customs clearance procedures.
- Proficiency in relevant software and technology used in port operations.
- Experience in a port-related role or a related field.
