Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Saudi Arabia for a Port Safety Officer - Shore Based Position. The Port Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and overseeing health and safety protocols, conducting regular inspections, ensuring occupational health compliance, and maintaining security measures at the port. Other responsibilities include investigating incidents, conducting safety training sessions, and providing recommendations for operational improvements to enhance safety and security.
Qualifications
- Must have offshore vessel experience and hold an international marine qualification
- An HSE certificate equivalent to the NEBOSH General Certificate is also required.
- Certificate of Competency with Proof of Verification
- Certificate of Competency Endorsement
- GMDSS Certificate (If Holding Deck Officer License)
- All STCW Certificates (including Medical Care)
- Bridge / Engine Room Resource Management
- Passport (Must be Valid At Least 06 Months)
- Seaman Book with All Sea time Entries (Must be Valid for At Least 06 Months)
- Marlins Test (Minimum 80% Marks) with Online Verification Proof
- Medical Fitness (Must be Valid for At Least 03 Months)
- H2S Familiarization Course
- Previous Saudi Aramco Approvals as Officer / Port Safety Officer
- BOSIET
- Proficiency in Health & Safety and Occupational Health practices
- Experience conducting Accident Investigations and implementing corrective measures
- Knowledge of Security protocols and procedures
- Expertise in developing and delivering Safety Training programs
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Relevant certifications in Health & Safety or related fields (e.g., NEBOSH or OSHA certifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline is preferred
