Role Overview:
Our client, a prominent business conglomerate, is seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to oversee and manage joint ventures in the industrial and energy sectors across Saudi Arabia. This role requires deep industry expertise, financial acumen, and the ability to drive long-term value creation across a diversified portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Oversight
- Conduct comprehensive financial evaluation of investment and joint venture opportunities
- Prepare and deliver monthly reviews of joint venture financial performance and reporting to senior management
- Escalate critical issues that require senior management's immediate attention and decision-making
- Monitor portfolio performance across power, oil & gas, manufacturing, and related sectors
Strategic Operations
- Participate in board meetings and conduct daily reviews of joint venture operations
- Prepare detailed Management Information Systems (MIS) reports for the division
- Conduct market surveys and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities
- Develop and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders
- Audit joint venture operations and conduct financial analysis to ensure compliance and performance
Business Development
- Identify and evaluate potential joint venture opportunities in the manufacturing sector
- Build and maintain a pipeline of strategic partnerships and investment opportunities
- Assess project viability and long-term value creation potential
- Support expansion initiatives across core sectors
Team Leadership
- Initially function as an individual contributor with board support
- Gradually build and lead a dedicated team to manage portfolio operations
- Provide strategic guidance and operational oversight across multiple joint ventures
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with an MBA in Finance
- 7-10 years of progressive experience in portfolio management, corporate finance, or investment management
- Proven track record in industrial, manufacturing, energy, or oil & gas sectors
- Must have previously formed or managed at least one joint venture or merger & acquisition in previous organizations
- Ability to assess project viability and drive long-term value creation
- Experience with MIS reporting and data-driven decision making
- Proficiency in conducting market research and financial analysis
