Job Description

Khalifa University is seeking a highly motivated Post-doctoral Researcher to join an innovative research project focused on deriving and improving risk prediction approaches for cardiovascular disease (CVD). The successful candidate will play a central role in the development and evaluation of quantitative models that leverage clinical and longitudinal health information to support improved estimation of CVD risk.

The project will involve the collection and extraction of large-scale health data from centralized electronic health records and management and harmonization of existing research cohorts to construct an analytical dataset suitable for research purposes. The postdoctoral researcher will coordinate and support data collection and preparation activities and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure appropriate data quality and management throughout the project lifecycle.

The role includes applying advanced analytical and computational methods to model disease risk over time and contributing to the translation of research outputs into tools with potential clinical relevance. The researcher will also participate in disseminating findings through scientific publications and collaborative activities.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with rich clinical datasets, engage in applied methodological research, and contribute to translational work with relevance to public health and clinical practice.

PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Data Science, Public Health or related field.

  • Strong background in quantitative research and data-driven analysis.
  • Experience working with health-related, population, or large-scale research datasets.
  • Familiarity with computational or statistical tools used in applied research settings.
  • Good experience in R and/or Python for statistical analysis and modeling.
  • Demonstrated research experience in clinical, public health, epidemiological or related contexts.
  • Good analytical judgement and problem-solving ability.
  • Capacity to work independently while managing multiple research tasks.
  • Willingness to contribute positively to a collaborative research team.
