Role Overview

The PR & Communication Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing integrated communication, public relations, and engagement strategies that effectively communicate the organization's mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities.

The role ensures strong alignment and engagement internally across the organization, while externally building, protecting, and enhancing the organization's reputation through proactive public relations, media engagement, stakeholder communication, and brand positioning.

Key Responsibilities

Communication, PR & Engagement Strategy

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication and public relations strategies aligned with organizational objectives, corporate identity, and leadership priorities.
  • Design internal, external, and engagement communication frameworks to ensure message consistency, clarity, and impact across all channels.
  • Identify and optimize communication platforms and channels to maximize reach, engagement, and reputation value.

Internal Communication & Employee Engagement

  • Ensure consistent, transparent, and effective internal communication across all organizational levels.
  • Develop and manage internal communication materials including newsletters, intranet content, leadership messages, employee announcements, and engagement campaigns.
  • Partner with HR and leadership to support employee engagement initiatives, internal branding, and change communication programs.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental communication to enhance collaboration, alignment, and organizational culture.

Public Relations & Media Management

  • Lead all public relations activities, including media relations, press outreach, and reputation management.
  • Oversee the development and distribution of press releases, media kits, official statements, and public announcements in Arabic and English.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for media inquiries, interviews, and external communications, ensuring alignment with executive messaging.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, media outlets, influencers, and key opinion leaders.

External Communication & Digital Engagement

  • Develop and manage external communication content for the organization's website, social media platforms, and digital channels.
  • Drive audience and stakeholder engagement through compelling storytelling, digital campaigns, and social media strategies.
  • Conduct ongoing media monitoring in Arabic and English, analyze public sentiment, and provide structured reports and insights to senior management.

Brand & Reputation Management

  • Maintain and strengthen the organization's brand identity through consistent messaging, tone of voice, and visual standards.
  • Monitor brand perception and public reputation, proactively identifying opportunities and risks, and recommending corrective or enhancement strategies.
  • Ensure all communication and PR materials comply with corporate brand guidelines and governance standards.

Crisis Communication & Issues Management

  • Develop, maintain, and execute crisis communication and issues-management plans.
  • Act as a key spokesperson during crises or sensitive situations, managing messaging to mitigate reputational risk and ensure stakeholder confidence.
  • Advise senior leadership on communication approaches during high-risk or high-visibility situations.

Content Development & Editorial Oversight

  • Oversee the creation of high-quality content including articles, speeches, presentations, reports, leadership messages, and public statements.
  • Manage editorial calendars to ensure timely, relevant, and strategic content delivery across all platforms.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality across all Arabic and English communication outputs.

Stakeholder & Community Engagement

  • Develop and manage communication plans to engage key stakeholders including partners, clients, government entities, and community organizations.
  • Support corporate initiatives, events, and CSR activities through targeted communication and engagement strategies.
  • Strengthen external relationships that enhance corporate reputation and organizational credibility.

Measurement, Reporting & Governance

  • Monitor, measure, and evaluate the effectiveness of communication, PR, and engagement initiatives using qualitative and quantitative metrics.
  • Prepare regular reports and executive dashboards providing insights, performance analysis, and strategic recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with communication governance, approvals, and executive office requirements.

Team & Vendor Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the communication and PR team, ensuring capability growth and high performance.
  • Manage relationships with external agencies, consultants, and vendors to deliver communication and PR initiatives effectively.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • A master's degree is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in communications, public relations, or related fields.
  • Experience working in corporate, government, or large-scale organizational environments is preferred.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic, with a professional level of English.
  • Strong capability in developing integrated communication and PR plans, including internal, external, and engagement communication calendars.
  • Proven ability to draft, translate, and distribute high-quality press releases and official statements in Arabic and English, with proficiency in AP style.
  • Strong understanding of media relations, reputation management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proficiency in digital and social media platforms, media monitoring tools, and reporting frameworks.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong prioritization and attention to detail.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to guide teams, manage stakeholders, and influence senior leadership.
  • Crisis communication and issues-management experience is highly preferred.
