MyWhoosh is looking for a strategic and industry-aware PR & Communications professional to lead external communications, media relations, stakeholder engagement, and brand narrative management within the global cycling and sports ecosystem.
This role will be responsible for strengthening the company's reputation, improving media quality and visibility, managing communication strategy around partnerships and events, and ensuring consistent messaging across all external touchpoints.
Core Responsibilities
Strategy & Communications
- Develop and own MyWhoosh's PR & Communications strategy aligned with overall business, marketing, and events strategy.
- Define annual priorities, deliverables, and KPIs for PR & Communications.
- Support planning and management of PR & Communications budgets and activities.
- Build and manage communication frameworks, messaging hierarchy, and press narratives.
- Ensure consistent messaging, tone of voice, and brand positioning across all markets.
Media Relations & Public Relations
- Drive organic media coverage across cycling, esports, endurance sport, technology, and lifestyle media.
- Build and manage trusted relationships with key global and regional media.
- Manage inbound and outbound media queries and narratives.
- Drive proactive earned media opportunities and manage reactive media responses.
- Monitor media sentiment, industry trends, and reputation risks.
- Support media outreach, press releases, interviews, and corporate announcements.
Paid Media & Agency Management
- Support paid media strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Coordinate with PR agencies and paid media partners.
- Lead agency reviews, content approvals, and performance tracking.
- Identify new media opportunities and emerging platforms in priority markets.
- Ensure communication outputs are timely, strategically aligned, and industry relevant.
Executive & Stakeholder Communications
- Support executive profiling, thought leadership opportunities, and media visibility initiatives.
- Coordinate communications with internal stakeholders, agencies, and external partners.
- Assist in preparing spokesperson guidance and communication materials for leadership.
- Own communications relationships with key stakeholders including UCI, federations, media, and strategic partners.
- Develop communications strategies that support partnership value and visibility.
Events, Partnerships & Brand Support
- Work closely with Marketing and Events teams to ensure alignment on campaigns, launches, and major initiatives.
- Lead PR & Communications planning and delivery for key global events, partnerships, and ambassador activities.
- Manage brand ambassador communications and ensure contractual deliverables are met.
New Markets & Media Development
- Develop PR and messaging strategies for new market entry aligned with business goals.
- Identify and build relationships with new regional and international media.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Oversee media monitoring across all markets.
- Deliver concise monthly reports covering coverage, sentiment, reach, and impact.
- Provide regular reporting on:
- Media coverage quality and relevance
- Communication performance and sentiment
- Stakeholder engagement progress
- Reputation risks and opportunities
- Maintain communication trackers, stakeholder databases, and media contact lists.
- Use insights to continuously refine strategy and messaging.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in PR, Communications, Media Relations, Corporate Communications, or Sports Communications.
- Strong understanding of stakeholder management and external communications.
- Experience working with agencies, media partners, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience within sports, cycling, esports, endurance sports, or global consumer brands is preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and remote environment.
