Practice Senior Manager - Regional Commercial Operations

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

Over the past two decades, Bain has formalized industry and capability areas, internally known as Practices, integral to how Bain wins and delivers results to its clients. A practice is considered a business unit of Bain. The primary role of a Practice is to drive growth for Bain in a particular industry or capability, together with offices, and boosting Bain's expertise and commercial excellence.

The Strategy & Transformation Practice is one of the largest practices at Bain, and at the heart of some of our biggest client success stories. We're constantly pushing the boundaries of innovation, with new hooks, points of view, products, tools and delivery models that bring together the best thinking from our most successful client heads and senior strategists, to stretch our client's definition of full potential, embed change within their organizations, and deliver results. The Strategy & Transformation Practice team works very closely with partners, senior managers and teams to bring Bain's best experience and the latest tools and innovations to bear across sectors and offices. They are integral in helping Bain win new cases and advising our case teams on difficult strategy and transformation questions.  

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Overall

• Act as thought partner and co-pilot to Regional Capability Leader (RCL)
• Proactively share thoughts on priorities and how to effectively achieve goals
• Day-to-day lead on execution of practice activities in APAC

Strategy and Planning

• Work with the Regional Capability Leader (RCL) to author the regional strategy (in service of the global practice strategy) and tailored to the unique context of APAC
• Define initiatives (and budget) required for strategy; Work with RCL and regional leaders / leadership team to drive progress against priorities

Affiliate Management and Staffing

• With RCL, define affiliate engagement strategy including information sharing, training, feedback loops, collaboration/teaming
• Execute above plan including (but not limited to) regional meetings, newsletters, regional calls, etc.
• Guide regional affiliates in their career development via HLAs and ratings
• If applicable, set up and manage regional staffing processes to ensure experts are well utilized

Solution Deployment & Commercialization

• Provide the regional go-to-market lens on solution strategy and opportunities; actively seek out what's working and what's not in region and share back to Solution team
• Manage interlock (industry and sector) relationships, partnering to achieve S&T goals in each industry/sector, including overall commercialization and moving towards full potential for all clients
• Sponsor and support Client Head Full Potential Training in region
• Provide direct proposal support on select opportunities; Connect case teams and client development teams with the best thinking and resources within the practice

Marketing and Brand Building

• Work with industry teams to drive interest in client forums (e.g., CTOs, CEOs)
• Where applicable, create content for regional events, ideally linked to priority topics and interlocks; liaise with global team and marketing experts

About You

Education and Experience

• 8–10 years professional services / strategy, transformations, and/or Results Delivery experience + undergrad
• 6–7 years with MBA/Master's

Experience

• Experience / expertise or strong interest in strategy, transformations, and/or Results Delivery

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to independently tackle complex business problems while juggling competing priorities; can scope, plan, quality check and efficiently deliver exceptional work with insight-driven packaging and communications
• Track record of deploying credible expertise on large domains with good results
• Able to make unique thought contributions (not just an aggregator of others ideas) with an eye to commercial results
• Can collaborate directly with senior stakeholders without an intermediary, and appropriately design and execute against a plan when additional support or actions are needed to reach alignment
• Capable and inspiring people manager who can apprentice and develop through management (direct or indirect) of people and/or processes
• Experience with basic AI tools and/or willingness to learn quickly
