Job Title: Pre-Sales Solar PV Engineer Specialist BESS Focus

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Pre-Sales Solar PV Engineer Specialist with strong technical expertise in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to support our business development team. In this client-facing role, you will bridge the gap between sales and engineering, helping to assess customer needs, design optimized solar + storage solutions, and support the sales cycle with compelling technical proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

Engage with customers and partners to understand project requirements and define optimal PV + BESS solutions.

Design preliminary layouts, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and system specifications using tools like PVsyst, Helioscope, or AutoCAD.

Prepare technical proposals, feasibility studies, and performance simulations for solar + storage systems.

Conduct system sizing, battery modeling, and energy yield assessments.

Present technical solutions and value propositions to clients, both virtually and in person.

Work closely with the sales, product, and engineering teams to ensure proposal accuracy and compliance with customer requirements.

Support RFP responses, bid packages, and technical documentation.

Assist in identifying and qualifying potential suppliers and components.

Stay updated on evolving technologies, market trends, and regulatory developments in solar PV and BESS.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field (Masters preferred).

4+ years of experience in the solar PV industry, with at least 1-2 years in BESS and pre-sales or solution engineering roles.

Strong technical knowledge of PV modules, inverters, battery systems (especially lithium-ion), and balance of system components.

Familiar with energy modeling and simulation tools (e.g., PVsyst, Homer Pro, AutoCAD, Excel-based modeling tools).

Clear understanding of grid-tied and off-grid system design, interconnection, and compliance.

Excellent communication and presentation skills to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Ability to manage multiple proposals and deadlines in a fast-paced sales environment.

Preferred Skills:

Experience working with commercial and utility-scale solar + BESS projects.

Understanding of financial modeling, levelized cost of energy (LCOE), and ROI analysis for solar + storage.

Familiarity with standards and codes

Knowledge of SCADA, EMS, and system control strategies.
