Overview:
The Presales Expert (Marine & Drilling) is responsible for supporting business opportunities by translating offshore and maritime operational requirements into practical and commercially viable digital solutions. The role collaborates with business development, product, engineering, and delivery teams throughout the presales lifecycle to support opportunity qualification, solution design, proposal development, and customer engagements. The position requires solid knowledge of offshore and maritime operations, strong consulting capabilities, and the ability to engage effectively with business and technical stakeholders. As an individual contributor, the role supports business growth by providing industry expertise, contributing to solution development, and helping customers address operational challenges through innovative digital technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support presales activities throughout the opportunity lifecycle, including opportunity qualification, RFP/RFI responses, solution presentations, demonstrations, proof-of-concept engagements, and proposal development.
• Collaborate with business development and commercial teams to understand customer requirements and develop value-driven solution proposals for drilling contractors, offshore operators, and maritime organizations.
• Prepare solution documentation, technical narratives, implementation approaches, and commercial inputs for customer proposals.
• Support opportunity tracking and contribute customer, market, and competitive insights to strengthen business opportunities.
• Develop and maintain reusable proposal content, solution templates, and presales assets tailored to marine and drilling use cases.
• Contribute to improving proposal quality, presales processes, and customer engagement activities.
• Support the design of digital solutions addressing offshore asset performance, well lifecycle management, vessel operations, rig management, operational optimization, and industrial asset reliability.
• Assist in translating offshore and maritime operational challenges into practical, scalable, and deliverable digital solutions aligned with customer objectives.
• Support technical discussions by presenting solution capabilities, business benefits, and implementation considerations during customer engagements.
• Apply knowledge of offshore operational standards, SIMOPS requirements, well integrity principles, and marine regulatory frameworks to support solution development.
• Maintain awareness of emerging technologies, industry trends, and digital transformation practices within the offshore and maritime sectors to enhance solution offerings.
• Ensure proposed solutions align with customer operational requirements and existing enterprise technology environments.
• Participate in discovery workshops, site visits, technical assessments, solution demonstrations, and customer presentations.
• Build effective working relationships with offshore operations teams, drilling specialists, marine engineers, asset managers, and technology stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, delivery, and commercial teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible and aligned with implementation capabilities.
Support the successful transition of opportunities from presales to delivery through effective documentation and knowledge transfer.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of solution assets, industry use cases, methodologies, and knowledge repositories for marine and drilling solutions.
• Share knowledge, lessons learned, and industry best practices with colleagues and project teams.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen presales effectiveness, customer experience, and solution quality.
• Maintain awareness of emerging offshore technologies, regulatory developments, and industry best practices to support ongoing capability development.
Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marine Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Professional certifications in offshore operations, industrial technologies, cloud platforms, enterprise architecture, or digital transformation are preferred.
Experience:
• 8–12 years of experience in presales, solution consulting, technical sales, digital transformation, or industrial technology roles within offshore energy, drilling, maritime, or related sectors.
• Experience supporting B2B opportunities involving offshore operators, drilling contractors, maritime organizations, or industrial clients.
• Experience working on offshore digital transformation or industrial technology initiatives is preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
• Good understanding of offshore drilling, maritime operations, and associated digital transformation opportunities.
• Familiarity with digital solutions supporting well lifecycle management, asset performance management, vessel operations, and operational optimization.
• Working knowledge of offshore operational standards and regulatory frameworks, including BSEE, NORSOK, IMO, and related industry requirements.
• Good solution consulting, business analysis, and requirements gathering skills.
• Ability to translate customer operational challenges into practical and commercially viable digital solutions.
• Strong proposal preparation and technical documentation skills.
• Effective stakeholder management and communication skills across business and technical teams.
