Overview:
The Presales Expert (Mining & Minerals) is responsible for supporting business opportunities by translating mining operational requirements into practical and commercially viable digital solutions across the mining value chain. The role collaborates with business development, product, engineering, and delivery teams throughout the presales lifecycle to support opportunity qualification, solution design, proposal development, and customer engagements. The position requires solid knowledge of mining operations across exploration, mine operations, mineral processing, and asset management, combined with solution consulting capabilities and the ability to engage effectively with business and technical stakeholders. As an individual contributor, the role supports business growth by providing mining domain expertise, contributing to solution development, and helping customers address operational challenges through digital technologies
Key Responsibilities:
• Support presales activities throughout the opportunity lifecycle, including opportunity qualification, RFP/RFI responses, solution presentations, proof-of-concept engagements, and proposal development.
• Collaborate with business development and commercial teams to understand customer requirements and develop value-driven solution proposals for mining companies, EPCs, and industrial organizations.
• Prepare solution documentation, technical narratives, implementation approaches, and commercial inputs for customer proposals.
• Support opportunity tracking and contribute customer, market, and competitive insights to strengthen business opportunities.
• Develop and maintain reusable proposal content, solution templates, and presales assets for mining and minerals use cases.
• Contribute to improving proposal quality, presales processes, and customer engagement activities.
• Support the design of digital solutions addressing mine planning, fleet management, processing optimization, asset reliability, tailings monitoring, and operational performance improvement.
• Assist in translating mining operational challenges into practical, scalable, and deliverable digital solutions aligned with customer objectives.
• Support technical discussions by presenting solution capabilities, business benefits, and implementation considerations during customer engagements.
• Apply knowledge of Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) environments to support integrated digital solution development.
• Maintain awareness of mining technologies, automation trends, industrial analytics, and digital transformation practices to enhance solution offerings.

• Build effective working relationships with mining engineers, operations teams, asset managers, and technology stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, delivery, and commercial teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible and aligned with implementation capabilities.
• Support the successful transition of opportunities from presales to delivery through effective documentation and knowledge transfer.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of solution assets, industry use cases, methodologies, and knowledge repositories for mining and minerals solutions.
• Share knowledge, lessons learned, and industry best practices with colleagues and project teams.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen presales effectiveness, customer experience, and solution quality.
• Maintain awareness of emerging mining technologies, market trends, and industry best practices to support ongoing capability development.
Qualification:
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Professional certifications in mining technologies, industrial automation, digital transformation, or enterprise technologies are preferred.
Experience:
• 8–12 years of experience in presales, solution consulting, technical sales, digital transformation, or industrial technology roles within mining, resources, or related industrial sectors.
• Experience supporting B2B opportunities involving mining companies, EPCs, or industrial organizations.
• Experience working on mining technology or digital transformation initiatives is preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
• Good understanding of mining operations across open-cut and/or underground environments and associated digital transformation opportunities.
• Familiarity with mining technology platforms, including fleet management systems, asset performance management solutions, process historians, and industrial analytics platforms.
• Strong knowledge of mining operations, mineral processing, and asset-intensive industrial environments.
• Good solution consulting, business analysis, and requirements gathering skills.
• Ability to translate customer operational challenges into practical and commercially viable digital solutions.
• Working knowledge of OT/IT convergence, industrial automation, and mining digital technologies.
• Strong proposal preparation and technical documentation skills.
• Effective stakeholder management and communication skills across business and technical teams.
