Role:Principal Avionics and Flight Control Systems Engineer

You've spent 12+ years building triple-redundant flight control computers. DO-178C DAL A evidence that certification authorities accept. Voting logic, state machines, modes and transitions under nominal and degraded conditions. You own the interface control documents. You've been the person structures waits on for control authority limits.
We're building a next-generation aircraft and sovereign data communications network. Greenfield. Early stage. The founding engineering team is assembling now.
Your role: own the FCC architecture detail design. Triple-redundant voting and monitoring. State machine for every mode transition. Interface control documents between flight control, propulsion, avionics, and mission C2. You produce the DO-178C evidence that closes the software objectives.
First 90 days: FCC architecture concept with redundancy and voting strategy locked. States and modes mapped including degraded cases. Interface catalogue with priority ICDs. Control authority limits drafted with flight sciences.
By month 12: Architecture signed off. Modes baselined. Planning artefacts v1.0 with DOA Lead. Priority ICDs drafted with adjacent system owners.
Must have: 12+ years avionics/FCS with DO-178C DAL A acceptance on a certified programme. Redundant fly-by-wire FCC architecture. State machine and modes design. ICD authoring. DO-178C planning artefacts. ARP4754A/4754B execution.
Preferred: eVTOL, tiltrotor, distributed electric propulsion, or iron-bird integration experience.
