Job Summary:
The Principal Engineer, Mechanical Maintenance is responsible for overseeing and improving the mechanical maintenance processes within the organization. This role involves leading a team of engineers and technicians to ensure the reliability and efficiency of mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and technicians in maintenance best practices.
- Maintenance Strategy: Develop and implement maintenance strategies and plans to optimize equipment reliability and performance.
- Technical Support: Provide expert technical support for complex mechanical issues and failures.
- Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis for mechanical failures and develop corrective actions.
- Project Management: Manage maintenance projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement initiatives to enhance maintenance efficiency.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and equipment performance.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, maintenance practices, and reliability engineering.
- Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred.
