About the Role:
We are partnering with an global innovative technology company developing next-generation optical networking and high-speed communication solutions.
We are looking for an experienced Hardware (Electrical) Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced hardware systems for optical networking products, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams from concept through product commercialization.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and optimize hardware systems for high-performance communication products, including optical networking platforms, optical modules and related hardware.
- Define hardware architecture, specifications and electrical interfaces to support system-level design objectives.
- Develop circuit designs and review hardware implementations to achieve performance, reliability, manufacturability and cost objectives.
- Collaborate closely with software, firmware, optical, mechanical and system engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Perform hardware verification, characterization, debugging and root cause analysis during development and new product introduction (NPI).
- Develop validation plans, execute testing activities and analyse results to ensure product quality and performance.
- Perform signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) analysis to optimize high-speed hardware designs.
- Prepare engineering documentation, design specifications, technical reports and validation records.
- Provide technical guidance during design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices.
- Support cross-functional teams during product integration and manufacturing activities.
Requirements
- Degree or postgraduate qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in hardware design and development for high-speed communication, networking, optical module, optical switching or related products.
- Good understanding of high-speed digital hardware design, PCB development and system-level hardware integration.
- Experience with signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) analysis for high-speed systems.
- Familiarity with simulation and analysis tools such as HFSS, ADS, SIWAVE, LTspice or equivalent.
- Knowledge of high-speed interfaces and components such as SerDes, DSPs, CDRs, TIAs, DC-DC converters and LDOs.
- Experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, BERT, protocol analysers, vector network analysers (VNA/PNA) or similar test equipment.
- Knowledge of Ethernet, PCIe or other high-speed communication standards would be advantageous.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional engineering environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel occasionally when required.
