Senior Private Banker Africa Coverage As a senior private banker, you will be responsible for acquiring, advising, and growing ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) and high-net-worth (HNW) clients from Africa (including Sub-Saharan and key markets). Based in Dubai, you will serve as a trusted advisor to wealthy families, entrepreneurs, and family offices, delivering holistic wealth management solutions while ensuring long-term relationship value. At ED/MD level, you are expected to lead business origination, mentor junior bankers, and represent the Africa market within the firm's senior leadership.
Key ResponsibilitiesClient Acquisition & Relationship Management
- Build and manage a portfolio of UHNW/HNW clients and family offices from Africa.
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing bespoke wealth management, investment, lending, and wealth planning solutions.
- Develop deep, multi-generational relationships with client families.
Wealth & Investment Advisory
- Deliver tailored portfolio strategies, discretionary mandates, and alternative investment opportunities.
- Provide guidance on succession planning, tax and estate structuring (in partnership with specialists).
- Coordinate cross-border solutions, leveraging Dubai as a gateway for African wealth diversification and global access.
Business Growth & Leadership
- Drive revenue growth and profitability in the Africa private banking business.
- Lead origination initiatives, represent Africa in senior management forums, and contribute to overall strategy.
- Mentor and develop junior relationship managers and assistants.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to relevant African, UAE, and international regulatory standards.
- Maintain the highest standards of risk management, ethics, and fiduciary duty.
- Act as a senior escalation point for client or compliance matters.
Qualifications & Experience
- 1215+ years of experience in private banking/wealth management with a focus on Africa clients.
- Proven track record of business origination and management of UHNW/HNW client portfolios.
- In-depth understanding of wealth management products, investment solutions, and family governance structures.
- Excellent cross-cultural communication and relationship skills.
- Fluency in English and French (for Francophone Africa); additional African languages a plus.
