Job Summary
The Private Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, operating, and optimizing the private cloud platform. The role ensures scalable, reliable, and efficient workload hosting, integrates with public cloud providers, and drives automation and infrastructure-as-code practices across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and operate private cloud platforms based on Nutanix AHV and OpenShift
- Manage virtualization environments, VM lifecycle, and tenant isolation
- Operate and optimize Red Hat OpenShift and OpenShift Virtualization platforms
- Integrate private cloud with public cloud and hyperscaler environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Develop and maintain automation and DevOps pipelines for infrastructure provisioning
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps practices
- Troubleshoot performance and scalability issues across cloud platforms
- Support multi-site and disaster recovery operations for cloud workloads
- Ensure 24x7 platform availability and compliance with operational standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, IT, Cloud Computing, or a related field (preferred)
- 710 years of experience in virtualization and cloud engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with private cloud platforms and hybrid/multi-cloud environments
- Proven experience in automation, DevOps, and infrastructure-as-code practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to cloud operations
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
- Nutanix AHV and Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM)
- Red Hat OpenShift / Kubernetes and OpenShift Virtualization
- Public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Automation tools: Terraform, Ansible, Python
- DevOps practices: CI/CD, GitOps, Helm
- Virtualization and cloud architecture design
- Troubleshooting distributed cloud environments
- Proficiency with cloud management, monitoring, and orchestration tools
- Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud integration
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Ability to support multi-site and DR operations
- Capacity to maintain 24x7 cloud platform availability
- Ability to implement automation and IaC across cloud environments
- Capability to integrate private cloud with public cloud platforms
- Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP)
- Red Hat OpenShift / Kubernetes certifications
- AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications
- Terraform Associate or DevOps-related certifications
