Process Engineer to join our
Assembly, Integration & Testing (AIT) team in
Abu Dhabi, UAE.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of
engineering, production planning, tooling, and shop-floor execution. The Process Engineer will play a key role in ensuring that production plans are aligned with actual assembly capabilities while continuously improving processes, tooling, and production flow.
Key Responsibilities
Process Engineering & Production Alignment
- Align production processes and capacity between Planning and Assembly.
- Work closely with Material and Production Planners to ensure schedules are achievable on the shop floor.
- Identify production constraints, bottlenecks, and process inefficiencies.
- Develop practical solutions to improve production flow, throughput, and cycle time.
- Work with R&D and Engineering teams to ensure product requirements can be effectively translated into production processes.
- Support the Assembly team in resolving day-to-day technical and process challenges.
Tooling, Jigs & Fixtures
- Design, specify, and manage production tools, jigs, fixtures, and equipment.
- Ensure required tooling is available and fit for production use.
- Maintain tooling records, traceability, and checkout/check-in controls.
- Coordinate tooling calibration schedules and ensure calibration compliance.
- Support FOD prevention and good tooling-management practices.
- Work with tooling and equipment suppliers to develop or improve production solutions.
Process Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across assembly processes and production flow.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and root-cause problem-solving techniques.
- Identify opportunities to reduce cycle time, waste, rework, and production constraints.
- Analyze process performance and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Standardize improved processes to ensure repeatability and consistent production quality.
Production & Line Readiness
- Support the Head of Assembly & Integration with tooling and process readiness ahead of production and product launches.
- Ensure processes, tooling, and fixtures are ready before production activities begin.
- Support new product introduction and production ramp-up activities.
- Work closely with shop-floor teams to validate processes and identify practical improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling Engineering, or a similar role.
- Experience in aerospace, UAV, aviation, defense, or other complex manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
- Strong practical experience in tooling, jig, and fixture design or management.
- Good understanding of production processes, assembly operations, and manufacturing workflows.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality principles as applied to manufacturing and process control.
- Experience with calibration management and tooling control is an advantage.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent process-improvement certification is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across Planning, R&D, Engineering, Quality, and Assembly teams.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is
hands-on, analytical, proactive, and comfortable working directly with production teams.
The ideal candidate understands that a good production process is not only about documentation—it must work effectively on the shop floor.
You should be able to identify a bottleneck, understand its root cause, work with the relevant teams, and implement a practical solution that improves
quality, productivity, safety, and delivery.
This position offers the opportunity to have a direct impact on the development of our
production capabilities, tooling systems, assembly processes, and manufacturing readiness.
