About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Engineer – MEP & Civil to manage procurement activities for civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing materials and equipment for construction and infrastructure projects in Dubai.

The role is suited to a procurement professional with hands-on experience in construction procurement, supplier sourcing, RFQs, quotation evaluation, commercial negotiations, purchase orders, and material delivery coordination.

Role Summary

The Procurement Engineer will be responsible for managing the procurement cycle from material requirement identification and supplier sourcing through quotation comparison, negotiation, purchase order placement, and delivery follow-up.

The ideal candidate must have previous procurement experience within engineering, construction, contracting, infrastructure, or related technical sectors, with strong knowledge of civil and MEP materials and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage procurement activities for Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) materials and equipment.

• Source and evaluate reliable suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers.

• Prepare and issue RFQs based on project requirements, BOQs, drawings, and specifications.

• Obtain, compare, and evaluate supplier quotations on price, quality, specifications, and delivery schedule.

• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial conditions with suppliers.

• Review BOQs, drawings, material specifications, and technical requirements before procurement.

• Coordinate with engineering, QS, project, and site teams to confirm material requirements.

• Prepare and process purchase orders and follow up on approvals.

• Monitor supplier performance, material quality, lead times, and delivery schedules.

• Coordinate timely delivery of materials to the project site.

• Identify alternative suppliers and cost-effective procurement options where required.

• Maintain updated supplier databases, quotation records, purchase orders, and procurement trackers.

• Ensure all procured materials comply with approved specifications, standards, and project requirements.

• Resolve supplier-related issues including delays, shortages, quality concerns, and replacement requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

• 3–5 years of procurement experience within construction, contracting, engineering, or infrastructure projects.

• Strong experience in procurement of civil and/or MEP materials and equipment.

• Good knowledge of construction materials, MEP equipment, suppliers, and manufacturers.

• Hands-on experience in RFQs, quotation comparison, supplier evaluation, negotiations, and purchase orders.

• Ability to understand BOQs, drawings, specifications, and material requirements.

• Strong supplier sourcing, vendor management, and negotiation skills.

• Good knowledge of local UAE suppliers and construction material markets is preferred.

• Strong coordination and communication skills.

• Good analytical, organizational, and follow-up abilities.

• Proficiency in MS Office and procurement/ERP systems.

• Ability to manage multiple procurement requirements and meet project deadlines.

Note: UAE/GCC procurement experience and experience with large-scale construction, infrastructure, rail, airport, or major development projects will be an advantage.
