About the Role Procurement Engineer (Civil Site Coordinator)

The Procurement Engineer Civil (Site Coordinator) is responsible for managing on-site procurement activities for civil works, coordinating with vendors, contractors, and project teams to ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services. This role requires strong technical understanding of civil engineering, operational efficiency, and vendor management skills to support smooth site execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily procurement activities at the site for civil materials and services
  • Monitor material requirements and ensure timely sourcing and delivery in line with project schedules
  • Float RFQs, evaluate quotations, and prepare Comparative Statements (CS) for approvals
  • Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and track deliveries with vendors and contractors
  • Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, and operations teams to finalize specifications and requirements
  • Ensure proper documentation for goods receipt, inspections, and invoice processing
  • Maintain and update vendor database; monitor vendor performance on delivery, quality, and service
  • Identify and report procurement risks, delays, or shortages to site and project management
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, budgets, and audit requirements
  • Support cost control and value engineering initiatives on site

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 35 years of experience in civil procurement, preferably in construction or real estate projects
  • Hands-on experience with site coordination, vendor management, and procurement documentation
  • Familiarity with ERP procurement systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
  • UAE / GCC experience preferred

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of civil procurement and site coordination processes
  • Knowledge of construction materials, quantities, and specifications
  • Vendor management, negotiation, and cost control skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests in a fast-paced site environment
  • High attention to detail, compliance orientation, and documentation discipline
  • Effective communication and coordination with project and site teams
  • Ability to troubleshoot procurement issues and ensure uninterrupted site operations
