We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Procurement Manager - BESS to join our team,to be based in Sharjah, UAE. Procurement manager will be responsible to lead the end-to-end procurement and commercial sourcing of BESS equipment and associated electrical systems for utility-scale and commercial renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for BESS projects based on project specifications, technical requirements, project schedules, and budget.
- Identify suitable domestic and international suppliers/OEMs for BESS and associated equipment.
- Develop and maintain an approved supplier/vendor database.
- Conduct market intelligence and monitor battery cell, module, rack, PCS, and BESS system pricing and availability.
- Identify, prequalify, and evaluate BESS manufacturers, system integrators, and key component suppliers.
- Assess suppliers based on technical capability, manufacturing capacity, certifications, financial strength, project references, warranty, service capability, and delivery performance.
- Conduct supplier audits and factory assessments where required.
- Prepare and issue RFQs/RFPs based on approved technical specifications and BOQs.
- Obtain and evaluate techno-commercial offers from suppliers.
- Prepare commercial comparison statements, cost analyses, and negotiation strategies.
- Prepare and release purchase orders/contracts in line with approved commercial terms.
- Ensure purchase orders accurately reflect technical specifications, quantities, delivery milestones, payment terms, warranties, and contractual obligations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree Electrical Engineering.
- 7–12 years of procurement/supply-chain experience, preferably within BESS, solar EPC, renewable energy, electrical infrastructure, or power projects.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement of BESS or major electrical equipment.
- Strong understanding of BESS technical and commercial requirements.
- Experience handling large-value procurement packages and international suppliers.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) is an advantage
- Good knowledge of MS Office.
