Our client is seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to manage the sourcing and procurement of chemicals, minerals, and fertilizers. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of procurement experience specifically within the chemical industry, along with strong chemical supplier knowledge and an established supplier network.

The role requires experience in supplier sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, international purchasing, import procedures, and supplier relationship management. Candidates with regional chemical procurement experience and an established supplier network will be highly preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

• Source and procure chemicals, minerals, and fertilizers based on business requirements.
• Identify and evaluate suitable manufacturers, suppliers, and traders.
• Manage supplier sourcing, evaluation, and negotiation activities.
• Negotiate and evaluate pricing, Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ), lead times, and shipping terms.
• Handle international purchasing and coordinate requirements related to import procedures.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with chemical suppliers.
• Conduct regular supplier follow-ups to ensure procurement requirements are met.
• Utilize existing chemical supplier knowledge and networks to identify suitable sourcing opportunities.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of procurement experience in the chemical industry – mandatory.
• Strong chemical supplier knowledge and an established supplier network.
• Regional chemical procurement experience preferred.
• Experience sourcing chemicals, minerals, and fertilizers.
• Strong supplier sourcing, evaluation, and negotiation skills.
• Experience dealing with manufacturers, suppliers, and traders.
• Good knowledge of pricing, MOQ, lead times, and shipping terms.
• Knowledge of international purchasing and import procedures.
