Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Officer with experience in the Modular- construction industry to support our procurement operations. The successful candidate will assist in sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating the delivery of materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects, while ensuring compliance with company policies and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the procurement of construction materials, tools, and subcontracted services in accordance with project specifications and timelines.
Source and evaluate potential suppliers, obtain quotations, and conduct basic negotiation to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
Prepare purchase orders (POs) and follow up on order confirmations, delivery schedules, and supplier performance.
Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier databases.
Work closely with project managers, site engineers, and the warehouse team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to project sites.
Monitor stock levels and coordinate with inventory teams to avoid shortages or overstocking.
Support the procurement team in evaluating vendor performance and compliance with quality and safety standards.
Assist in resolving delivery delays, quality discrepancies, or invoice issues.
Ensure procurement activities comply with organizational policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 12 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably within the construction industry.
Familiarity with construction materials, equipment, and suppliers is highly desirable.
Basic knowledge of procurement software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, MS Excel).
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of construction project lifecycles and timelines.
Understanding of procurement best practices and ethical sourcing.
Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and construction drawings is an advantage.
Work Conditions:
Office-based with occasional site visits as required.
May be required to work extended hours to meet project deadlines.
