About the Opportunity
A well-established international construction systems business operating across the UAE and wider Middle East is seeking an experienced procurement officer to strengthen its UAE supply chain function. The organization is a recognized provider of formwork and scaffolding solutions supporting major infrastructure and commercial projects. Due to continued growth, they require a procurement professional to support both project delivery and hire/sale operations.
This position will act as a key link between the UAE office and international manufacturing hubs, ensuring cost-effective sourcing, efficient logistics coordination, and on-time material availability.
The Role
The Procurement Officer will be responsible for executing and coordinating procurement activities across formwork systems, scaffolding, accessories, and related construction materials.
You will work closely with international suppliers, factories, and logistics partners to ensure materials are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with UAE regulations and internal procurement standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute procurement of formwork systems, scaffolding, plywood, steel components, and consumables aligned with project and operational needs
- Issue RFQs, evaluate quotations, prepare commercial comparisons, and support negotiations
- Act as the primary liaison between the UAE office and international suppliers and factories
- Coordinate production schedules, shipment readiness, and delivery timelines
- Manage logistics coordination, including shipping methods, Incoterms, customs documentation, and delivery planning
- Monitor order progress and proactively communicate risks or delays
- Manage and develop relationships with approved local and international suppliers
- Support supplier performance evaluations (cost, quality, delivery, service)
- Assist with onboarding new suppliers alongside global supply chain stakeholders
- Support cost optimisation initiatives and landed cost analysis
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation, supplier records, and contracts
- Prepare regular reports on order status, lead times, supplier performance, and cost savings
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and UAE import regulations
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline
Experience
- 35 years procurement experience within construction, formwork, scaffolding, or industrial sectors
- Proven experience working with both local and international suppliers
- Experience managing overseas manufacturing relationships
- UAE market experience strongly preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of procurement and supply chain processes
- Experience in international sourcing and UAE imports
- Strong commercial awareness and cost analysis capability
- ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics, or similar)
- Advanced MS Excel and reporting skills
- Excellent coordination and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to work across multiple time zones and departments
