BEC Arabis is looking to hire (Procurement - Senior Electrical Engineer)
An Electrical Procurement Engineer manages the end-to-end acquisition of electrical materials, equipment (e.g., switchgear, transformers, cables), and services for projects, ensuring cost-efficiency, quality, and timely delivery. They analyze technical specifications, evaluate vendors, negotiate contracts, and coordinate with engineering teams to meet project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing & Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Technical Evaluation: Review engineering requirements to ensure purchased electrical components meet specifications and standards.
- Negotiation & Contracting: Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with vendors.
- Procurement Process: Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and Request for Quotations (RFQs).
- Coordination & Logistics: Coordinate with project managers and the technical team to align purchases with project schedules and manage logistics.
- Reporting: Prepare procurement reports, maintain vendor master data, and monitor vendor performance.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: 38 years of experience in electrical procurement, particularly within construction or engineering sectors.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical materials, components, and industry standards.
- Skills: Proven negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Software: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Communication: Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken).
