Job Summary
The Procurement Specialist plays a key role in supporting Mowasalat's vision of delivering agile, safe, and sustainable transport solutions by ensuring the efficient, timely, and cost-effective procurement of goods and services. The role is responsible for managing procurement activities, maintaining strong supplier relationships, supporting inventory control, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and regulatory requirements, and contributing to business continuity. The position also supports procurement reporting, analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Operations & Management
- Process purchase requisitions, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Identify and select vendors based on price, quality, quantity, and delivery requirements to ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Prepare and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery, and minimizing procurement-related risks.
Supplier Management & Development
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers to ensure effective communication, collaboration, and mutual benefit.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Support supplier performance evaluation, data management, and supplier development initiatives.
Inventory Management & Control
- Assist in managing inventory levels to maintain optimal stock availability and minimize inventory costs.
- Monitor inventory movements and analyse trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Implement inventory management practices to ensure record accuracy, compliance, and risk mitigation.
Compliance, Risk Management & Business Continuity
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify procurement-related risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize operational impact.
- Support and implement business continuity plans to maintain uninterrupted procurement operations.
Reporting, Analytics & Performance Management
- Prepare and submit procurement reports covering procurement performance, supplier evaluations, and market analysis.
- Analyse procurement data to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
- Develop and monitor procurement metrics aligned with organizational objectives and performance targets.
Governance & Confidentiality
- Ensure the highest standards of confidentiality are maintained to safeguard sensitive organizational data.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience
- At least 7 years of experience in procurement or a related field.
Certifications & Training (Preferred)
- Certified Procurement Professional (CPP).
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM).
- Any other relevant procurement or supply chain certification.
